Top 10 Trackball Mouse
From good to outstanding, this is my top 10 trackball mouse ranking
After using all popular trackball mice, I hereby proudly present the Top 10 Trackball Mouse ranking. Some trackballs are not mentioned in this list because they are not produced anymore, although they might be available via eBay and Amazon and I do have a review for each trackball, so visit the trackball review overview page for all trackball reviews.
I have a strong preference for finger-operated trackball (where you use your middle fingers to operate the ball, as opposed to thumb-operated trackballs, where you use your thumb to control the ball), which explains the high ranking of these kind of trackballs in this list. Some people do swear by thumb-operated trackballs. It is a personal preference, but if you don’t have trackball experience I would recommend the finger-operated trackballs since they give in my opinion a better control and accuracy.

Kensington Expert Mouse |
A winner on all accounts: large ball provides accuracy and comfort, ergonomic design, great scroll ring. Quite large and not as luxuriously made as the Kensington SlimBlade. Recommended for professionals or anyone who wants the best trackball available.
Update: now also available as a bluetooth wireless model |

CST2545-5W (GL) L-Trac |
The CST2545-5W (GL) L-Trac Glow Laser Trackball with blue glow ball (how cool is that!) is a high quality trackball. The scroll wheel is superb and the control and accuracy are excellent. This is one of my new favorite trackballs!

Kensington Slimblade |
The Ferrari of the Trackballs: stunningly beautiful, technologically superior, but expensive. Scrolling via ball not as ideal as a scroll ring but works well. Large ball for good accuracy and comfort, 4 large buttons. The only real competition is the Kensington Expert and CST2545.

Logitech MMX ERGO Wireless Trackball |
Great to see that Logitech still believes in trackballs! Logitech is back with this brand new and unique Logitech MX Ergo trackball: an ergonomic combination of Trackball Mouse and a Vertical Mouse. At $99 (or €109) it is not cheap, but it features wireless (Bluetooth!) connection, state-of-the-art vertical tilt design that aims to relieve wrist pain. This is the ultimate thumb-operated trackball, if you’re willing to spend the cash!

The Speedlink Aptico Wireless Trackball is a very good thumb-operated wireless trackball, similar to the best selling trackball Logitech M570 but with a better build quality, DPI switch, and its secret weapon, the more versatile and solid scroll ‘4D’ scroll wheel. Hallo Willem, bedankt voor je bericht!
Good point, I didn’t try it yet but will put it on the list!
Any reviews on the Wireless Kensington Orbit. Just wished that they improve the lock on the battery compartment cover so that it does not break easily
