Elecom M-HT1DRBK HUGE Wireless Trackball |
Launched in 2017, this completely new HUGE trackball has risen quickly to the top of this best selling trackball list. As the name suggests, this is a very large device, with a large ball, good grip and many buttons, DPI switch and the option of a Wired or Wireless version. A great effort by Elecom is rewarded with good sales. The Wireless version ($85.99) is the most popular, but the Wired version (only $59.06) can be found on the fifth place of this list. The combined sales of the Wired and Wireless HUGE are only slightly higher than the combined sales of the wired and wireless Kensington Expert Wireless. |

Kensington Expert Mouse Wireless |
In 2016, the wireless version of the Kensington Expert Mouse, one of my favorite trackballs, was introduced. And yes, your prayers have been heard: it is a Bluetooth trackball! And also features a small USB dongle if you don’t have Bluetooth. Priced at $80 it is currently the same price as the wired Expert. The wired version of the Expert is on the 4th place of this list. The combined sales of the wired and wireless Expert are similar to the wired and wireless Elecom HUGE. |

Kensington Orbit with Scroll Ring |
Not surprisingly a top seller: the Kensington Orbit with Scroll Ring costs only $20 on Amazon and is a fantastic trackball, definitely winner of the Best value for money. It offers the best scrolling experience thanks to its super-smooth scroll ring. Great beginner’s trackball, but also suited for professional use.

Kensington Expert Mouse |
In 2016 it was the second best selling trackball, but people now tend to opt for the Wireless model (see new nr. 2). The Expert is a classic, a winner on all accounts: large ball provides accuracy and comfort, ergonomic design, great scroll ring. Quite large and not as luxuriously made as the Kensington SlimBlade. Recommended for professionals or anyone who wants the best trackball available.

Elecom M-HT1URBK HUGE Wired Trackball |
The wired version of the best selling Elecom HUGE trackball. Launched in 2017, this completely new HUGE trackball is a very large device, with a large ball, good grip and many buttons and DPI switch. The Wireless version ($85.99) is the most popular (see the number 1 spot of this list), but the Wired version (only $59.06) is doing very well. The combined sales of the Wired and Wireless HUGE are slightly higher than the combined sales of the Wired and Wireless Kensington Expert. |

Logitech M570 Wireless Trackball |
The best selling trackball of 2015 and 2016 has lost its top spot in 2017. This could be due to the introduction of Logitech’s completely new MX ERGO trackball or popularity of the Elecom HUGE. The M570 is a very good trackball: comfortable for the hand, wireless with tiny USB receiver, many buttons and a scrollwheel. Very small, takes up the least desk space. And at a price of less than $30, no wonder it’s the most popular trackball.

Logitech MX ERGO |
Launched in 2017, the Logitech MX ERGO was the first new Logitech Trackball to be launched in 10 years. With its advanced features and semi-vertical mouse tilting design, it’s a great but more expensive alternative for the Logitech M570. I wouldn’t be surprised it the MX ERGO will sell better than the M570 in 2018.
