Biggest Trackball Brands

Logitech and Kensington are the biggest trackball brands and have long been the leaders in the field of computer trackball mice.
Update 2020: Elecom is a relatively new brand but is quickly becoming a major player in the trackballs.
Kensington offers the biggest range of trackballs, currently (2016) 6 different models, including my favorites, the Expert and SlimBlade.
Logitech currently (2016) produces two models, including the best selling Logitech M570 Wireless Trackball and the trackball that started it all for me, the Logitech Marble Trackman. But their older trackballs are still a good option if you get them on eBay, for example the Logitech Cordless Optical TrackMan, Logitech Cordless Trackman Wheel, Logitech Trackman Wheel Optical, Logitech TrackMan FX Trackball and Logitech TrackMan FX Trackball Cordless.
Other Trackball Brands
Less well-known trackball brands are CST (Clearly Superior Technologies), Elecom, Speedlink, Adesso and Sanwa.
CST is a family business based in the USA, which produces high quality trackballs in the premium price segment. I’m currently testing their flagship model CST2545-5W (GL) L-Trac Glow Laser Trackball soon, so stay tuned for the full review. You can find CST trackballs on Amazon, ranging from $80 to $140.
Elecom is a Japanese brand which produces a few nice looking trackballs, both finger-operated (DEFT) and thumb-operated (EX-G) models, and some wireless models. Find them on Amazon.com. I’m currently testing the Elecom M-XT3DRBK wireless and Elecom M-DT2DRBK wireless and will post the full reviews soon. I already made a complete overview of all Elecom trackball models.
Speedlink is a German based company selling computer accessories. They sell many mice, but only one trackball, the Speedlink Aptico Wireless Trackball, read my review here.
Sanwa is a Japanese brand which sells two thumb-operated trackballs (I didn’t review these yet) and a finger operated trackball, read review here.
Microsoft used the be a big player in the trackball world. Comfort was always built into their upper end trackball mouse, as were speed, accuracy, durability and compatibility. Microsoft currently doesn’t produce any trackball mice anymore but the ones still left for sale online are highly priced because of their quality status of a well built trackball.
